yep its Friday again and that can only mean one thing - ITS DARE TIME!!!
This week it was Jane's turn to dare us all. She said to create a card with more than one fold. Well I think she had trifold, concertina etc cards in mind but I decided to think outside the box a little bit this week and go for cards with folds on them, but still on a single fold card. Clear as mud? Let me explain, this week my cards (yes cards! I actually managed 2!!!) used the waterfall technique and iris Folding, and I am doubly proud of them cos they use some yummy stamps and I am totally pants at stamping.
Iris Folded Baby Card.
I started by cutting a square from a piece of scrummy pink textured cardstock. Then I had printed off a template but it didnt fit my gap or stamp so I kinda made it up.
Using a mix of pink paper from Blonde Moments and Me and My Big Ideas (dont know what one) I created a iris design. I stamped a baby vest from the gorgeous Hero Arts Baby 4 piece stamp set onto plain white cardstock in black staz-on in. I then use watercolour pencils and a water brush to lightly colour the image. Stuck it all together and mounted on a white square card blank. Pretty in pink!
Baby Waterfall.
This card isnt as complicated to make as it looks and when you pull the tab at the bottom the pictures flip up and fold over one by one - its a great effect which looks great.
I used fantastic instructions from Splitcoast Stampers using spare offcuts of cardstock for the mounts and mechanism and the heroarts stamps and watercolours for the pictures.
On the pully out bit and the top of the card I used black rub on greetings by papermania. finished off with 2 white brads and a scrap of white ribbon
Well the excitement of making two cards before the deadline has worn me out and I must retire to bed with a crafting book. Actually a rather inspiring album one I found in our local library! Dont forget to check out The Daring CardMakers to see what everyone else has created this week.
I will be back in a couple of days I promise, if not you can all poke me with a sharp stick. Buh-bye xxxxx

Love the waterfall card - they look very complicated, so I'm impressed! Those stamps are very cute, too : ).
Great cards! I haven't made a waterfall card before and think your turned out exceptionally well - is it really uncomplicated to make? It looks like it's complicated! Thanks for the link to the instructions too. Sounds like you had a nice Valentine's Day. I got taken out to lunch which was lovely - and the invitation came before I gave DH his Valentine scrap book card, so it was special!
Gorgeous cards Tracie, the waterfall one is beautiful and as for the iris folding, you made it look amazing with your chice of papers and fab centre image!
Love the waterfall card ! Very impressive ! great effect !

fantastic card Tracie, so cute. Im always too scared to attempt these sort of cards (chicken eh)
hows the ickle man? does he fancy chicken pox? hehe
wow.
Both look great. I'm not a great fan of iris folding, but using it as a background really works well so I might have to reconsider....
love the waterfall card - I've made a waterfall book - I wonder if they are pretty much the same - I'll have to look at your link to the instructions.
Lovely cards. I really like the waterfall card and will be visiting the link you posted to try one out myself.
Tracie I love both of your cards..
you seemed to make this dare look easy... I struggled a bit with the whole folding thing, and here you are with two gorgeous cards... well done...
Loving your cards Tracie, i have not got a clue where to start to do those waterfall.
